DeHeng Case Selected as a 2023 National Maritime Trial Model Case by the Supreme People’s Court

On June 8, 2024, the Supreme People’s Court announced five national maritime trial model cases for 2023, among which DeHeng’s representation in a series of disputes arising from the collision and salvage involving vessels D and C was selected.


The cargo ship D collided with the engineering vessel C in the North Channel of the Yangtze River Estuary, a critical junction for China’s domestic and international trade routes. This incident triggered a series of interconnected lawsuits, widely referred to as the “Eight Parties, Ten Cases,” whose complex proceedings drew significant public attention.
