DeHeng Secured Full Arbitration Victory in Infrastructure Construction Case, Recovering RMB 134 Million
2024-04-09
Recently, DeHeng successfully represented the claimant, a construction company, in an arbitration case against a county housing and urban-rural development bureau.
In 2019, the claimant won the bid for a road construction project organized by the respondent. The two parties signed a construction contract, which was duly registered, and the claimant commenced work as stipulated. During the project, several variations were made, and in 2021, the project passed the acceptance inspection. However, the respondent refused to pay the project fees, citing reasons such as incomplete audits and final accounts.
Upon being engaged by the client, the DeHeng team, with primary support from lawyers Chen Tianshu, Tie Wen, and Zhang Benyi of the Hefei Office, provided whole-process legal services, including client communication, strategy development, and evidence collection. Recently, the arbitration commission ruled in favor of the claimant, fully supporting the RMB 134 million arbitration claim. The award took effect immediately upon issuance.
