2020-01-06

China issued the E-Commerce Law on January 1, 2019 to govern an extensive scope of activities of selling commodities or providing services via Internet or other information networks. Since then industry leaders have started to work on the compliance of their e-commerce business.
In June 2019, DeHeng won the bid for the China Mobile e-commerce compliance research project. Under China Mobile there are a great variety of subsidiaries and e-commerce services: operators include e-commerce platforms, on-platform operators and own websites, and e-commerce models include B2B, B2C and C2B.
The DeHeng team, with primary support from partner Wang Yinan and lawyers Wang Yike and Wang Qianhui, conducted thorough survey on their platforms and e-commerce services, analyzed key legal issues in the e-commerce field with typical cases, and proposed pertinent compliance suggestions on such areas as cybersecurity, unfair competition, intellectual property rights protection and personal information protection. After six months of research, they produced a report of more than 200 pages. Their insights into the industry and professionalism were highly spoken of by the client's executives.
In the past year since the issuance of E-Commerce Law, DeHeng has been following the dynamic development in e-commerce legislation, especially in such areas as cybersecurity and privacy protection. Its active communication with regulators and industry leaders has laid a solid foundation for it to deliver professional and premium legal services in the e-commerce field.
