DeHeng Advised Sinopec on Tax-related Compliance

In January 2022, following the scandal of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) reselling nearly 180 million tons of imported crude oil to other refineries for profit, Sinopec launched an internal investigation and correction campaign and decided to engage outside law firms to advise it on tax-related issues concerning petrochemical enterprises. 

The DeHeng team, with primary support from Kong Weiping, Zhang Xuan, Ma Sihong and Wei Ping, conducted thorough research, discussed governing laws and regulations, applicable judicial cases and common tax-related issues facing petrochemical enterprises within a short period of time, and assisted Sinopec's Corporate Reform and Legal Department and Finance Department completing relevant tasks.
