Ian Wang is specialized in cross-border merger and acquisition, cross-border dispute resolution, cybersecurity and data compliance. With over 20 years of practice experience in both China and the United States,he has provided comprehensive legal services to multinational groups, large state-owned enterprises, and listed companies in numerous landmark projects and cases, covering the areas of energy, automotive, finance, e-commerce, internet, artificial intelligence, etc.

- Conducted a data compliance program on dealing with government’s request for information for China TravelSky Holding – the third world largest global distribution system (GDS) equipped with the world’s largest Billing and Settlement Plan (BSP) data processing center

- Acted as leading counsel for SGX mainboard-listed CEFC International in the acquisition of Dyneff, a leading independent fuel distributor in France
- Advised a central government owned enterprise on a coal-power-transmission project in Mongolia
- Advised a state-owned enterprise on an investment of gold mines in Ecuador
- Advised a state-owned enterprise on establishing a joint venture company in the Democratic Republic of Congo
- Advised a large Chinese private company on its acquisition of a petroleum products retail business in Kazakhstan

- Represented a state-owned enterprise in US litigation facing delisting after being placed on the US Entity List
- Represented a large domestic listed company in a US$ 50 million international engineering project arbitration with a Mongolian company at the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC)
- Represented a domestic energy enterprise in a US$ 100 million international commodity trade dispute arbitration with one of the world's largest companies at the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC)
- Represented a large private enterprise by initiating legal proceedings in local courts and domestic arbitration tribunals regarding a Serbian engineering contracting project (successfully recovered over US$ 7 million in engineering fees)
- Represented an Indonesia company in defending an international construction contract dispute involving a US$ 6 million claim at the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC)
- Represented a US company in defending an investment contract dispute involving a US$ 3 million claim at CIETAC
- Represented a US listed company in defending a distributor agreement dispute at the Shanghai International Arbitration Center (SHIAC)
- Represented a Chinese party in proceedings to recognize and enforce a US$ 3 million Chinese court judgment in the U.S.
- Represented a domestic mobile game developer in a trademark case against the American game company Jam City at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
