Recently, Understanding Lawyers' Ethics (third edition), translated by Dr. Wang Weidong, partner of DeHeng Law Offices, coming after his M&A in America, has been published by Peking University Press.

 

One of the authors of this book Monroe H. Freedman, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Laws and Master of Laws of Harvard University, is professor of Law School of Hofstra University. He has been called "lawyers' lawyer" by Harvard Law Translation and known as "legal pioneer in the field of professional ethics" by New York Times. His works are listed in must-read by most of Law schools in the United States. Monroe H. Freedman appeared in the "Who's Who in the United States", "Who's Who in American law" and "Who's Who in the world."

 

Another author of the book Abbe Smith, Bachelor of Arts of Yale University, Doctor of Laws of New York University, is professor of Law School of Goergetown University.

 

Dr. Wang, global partner of DeHeng Law Office, part-time professor in International MBA project of Economic Research Center of Peking University, received his Master of Laws and Doctor of Jurisprudence from Law School of the University of Chicago and Master of comparative law from Brigham Young University. He has been a visiting professor at Law School of Michigan University and Peking University. He is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and once worked with Sidley Austin in Chicago, one of the largest law firms worldwide. He was also a visiting scholar at Peking University Law School. His publication includes M&A in America.

 

With rich and informative literature and vivid cases, the book systematically elaborates the American lawyers' professional ethics. From the point of view of lawyers' ethics originating from the bill of rights and human liberty and dignity, it analyzes the lawyers' basic ethical issues, particularly the principles and standards of ABA.
