Recently, GensKey announced the completion of RMB 230 million Series C financing. The lead investor was Huagai Capital, followed by Apricot Capital, Yuanbio Venture Capital, and Legend Capital. 

GensKey was established in 2017 in the incubator of the School of Life Sciences of Peking University. Its name plays with the pun of "Gene's Key," which implies the corporate mission of applying genetic technology to find a golden key to solving the diagnosis problem of infectious diseases. By 2020, as the industry leader in the field of high-throughput genetic testing of infectious pathogens, it has opened medical testing laboratories in Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Guangzhou and Wuhan.

Huagai Capital, established in 2012, is a private equity investment institution co-founded by a group of professionals from well-known investment institutions at home and abroad. Aspiring to "become a local asset management institution with international influence," it focuses on the private equity investment in Chinese market, and is committed to driving the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises into industry leaders. Its assets under management exceed RMB 15 billion. Its medical fund focuses on the fields of biomedicine, medical devices and medical services, with particular interest in mergers, acquisitions and consolidation of medical and healthcare businesses, as well as early- and medium-stage investment in high-tech high-growth enterprises.

As the legal counsel of Huagai Capital, the DeHeng team was led by partner Hou Zhiwei, with primary support from Zhang Yan, Wen Bin and Hu Xueyuan.
