DeHeng Partner Elected to International
Chamber of Commerce Working Group

Recently, Peng Xianwei, a partner of DeHeng Beijing office, was elected as a member of the E-Commerce Logistics - Outsourced Inventory Management Working Group of the Commission of Commercial Law and Practice, International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). Mr. Peng had the recommendation of ICC China.

The ICC, founded in 1919 and headquartered in Paris, is a globally important non-governmental economic organization, with over 90 national committees and more than 6.5 million members. Over the past hundred years or so, it has played a vital role in formulating international commercial rules and in global economic governance. It comprises 12 specialized commissions that cover such areas as trade & investment policy, environment & energy, corporate responsibility & anti-corruption, customs & trade facilitation, marketing & advertising, commercial law & practice, digital economy, intellectual property, competition, taxation, arbitration, and banking, respectively. In 1994, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) officially joined the ICC in the name of China Chamber of International Commerce, and took the lead in founding ICC China. By the end of June 2016, ICC China had its 12 specialized commissions in place corresponding to their ICC counterparts, ready to help Chinese industry and commerce circles play a bigger role in formulating international economic and trade rules.

As one of the specialized committees of the ICC, the Commission of Commercial Law and Practice is responsible for developing and promoting rules governing international commercial activities. Its International Commercial Terms (Incoterms) have become the standard architecture for international commercial activities. Working with other international rule makers, it advocates more harmony in international commerce and trade from a commercial perspective. It has solicited world-renowned experts and divided them into groups which are tasked with rule drafting to promote international trade.

The E-Commerce Logistics - Outsourced Inventory Management Working Group Mr. Peng is elected into is dedicated to addressing core issues concerning e-commerce logistics solutions, warehousing, inventory management, and final distribution, in an effort to standardize third-party logistics services.
